I turn right first Bavarian to my friends. We all know that, Bavaria is the most successful club in Germany, but nevertheless has Mainz 05 game on Saturday with three hits J dominated and deserved to win. So please do not hated and treated ourselves to the sixth string in a row.
But now to the events in LA: On Friday there was a kind of competition taking place in our pool. The boys and girls of the USC swim department were divided into two groups and are then lined up against each other internally. I was in the group that lost in the end, unfortunately, a few meters, but it was more a fun event. Nevertheless, it was a good experience for me because I can now better appreciate the time and knows what I have to pay more.
My times were as:
- 45.5 seconds to 100 freestyle (where I messed up every change, because there are just 23.8 yards per track and not 25 as I am used to I have to adjust.). I was told that when I swim 42 seconds or less, very good about me.
- In the 4x200-meter freestyle relay team swam I'm 1:39,6 min. When translated my best time of the Long Course (1:49,78), we arrive at about 1:33,2.
I am now even more motivated to undercut the periods mentioned to me, because I think I can swim faster than is expected of me.
On Friday I had my first "Mid-Term Exam" written in Oceanography. It was a multiple choice test with 55 questions and five possible answers per question, although there were always only one correct answer. I think I've mastered it quite well.
Due to the "competition" for the weekend was totally free. Many of the swimmers are on the whole half days gone home or flown. A friend who had a birthday, seized the opportunity and invited me and a few other friends for a night in Las Vegas. Las Vegas is a four-hour ride from Los Angeles. Most of the time you drive through the desert of California or Nevada. This was the first time I was really in the desert.
Vegas is really a great city, but it is not as great as they might imagine. Clearly a night is too short to explore the whole city, but I've probably seen quite a lot.
I wanted to broach a subject. My family, my girlfriend and I are often asked how we maintain contact and that is that even possible.
So, I can say is that it works very well. I usually use skype with the people in Germany, the only problem is, that one has to find a suitable time in which it goes on both sides - so I want to draw attention to the time difference of nine hours. I can make phone calls either when it is on me between 11 und 13 clock; in Germany then it is already evening. This works for me but not as often as I usually still have university or flaming me in this time just on the ear. Sometimes I make calls even when it is on my clock 21.30. For this to my friends but then get up at 6:30 clock and then on to school or to work. But I also have a lot of contact on Facebook, and I always keep up to date on German news agencies and its online services.
