What Color Hair Should People With Rosacea Have

Spencer Quinn - Bernie & Chet

More dog as a crime

The story: An irresistible snoop on four feet: Bernie Little and his partner, Chet are the best private detectives in the city. And this is mainly due to Chet, who would be at least once almost became a police dog. Admittedly, Chet has all the typical weaknesses of a dog: he has an indomitable drive to play and a very sketchy memory. But that, the smart four-legged friends is more than compensated with his hunting instinct, and his unerring nose. Above all, Chet has a great, brave heart, utterly lovable for his Bernie owner proposes - and the pretty human woman Suzie Sanchez, who would, in Chet's view, the perfect female for Bernie. But what a dog already understands the strange doings of the people? (Blurb)

My opinion: How should a dog Crime also be knitted differently than from the perspective of the dog? So it is here in this. Chet, a large dog that had once existed near a police dog training, knows not his own race, but his master all the better. Chet tells the reader the history of the case "Maddie" and says he or she occasionally even directly and used the polite "You". Inconsistently, he can not communicate with his owner Bernie, but as this book does in the real world, this is a good thing.
While the narrative appear cute "dialogue" on when Bernie used typically human idioms and proverbs and Chet only station understands. Otherwise, Chet is a typical dog, in principle, only three things in your head: play, eat and sleep. Along the way he helps his master discover it some cases.
Actually I can say anything bad about the book: It is made easy, one can read it quickly and relaxed and it's even halfway exciting. Halfway unfortunately is because Chet quite fast and by chance got out where Maddie is but unfortunately he could not tell Bernie and his memory is not the best. The reader always knows where Maddie, just do not know why. This must identify themselves Bernie. Therefore, in this book is definitely the dog in the foreground and not the crime, but in this composition, it works quite well.
Besides the funny voice interpretation errors Chet and his very entertaining view of the human world is nothing really outstanding about the book, I could highlight.

Conclusion: Chet & Bernie is a solid book for all dog lovers, without the cruelty of "real" detective stories, but entertaining and, therefore, ideally suited for a younger audience.
